Hey! I'm Nifty – logistics manager, soul collector (well, at least in a metaphorical sense), and social media guru for Warlock A.D. If you’ve followed the band on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or Blue Sky, you’ve probably seen me convincing them to embrace their goofy side for some short-form content. Let’s just say, I’ve perfected the art of getting a "serious" power metal band to make fools of themselves – and they absolutely love it. But there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes than just the memes and viral trends.

I first crossed paths with Warlock A.D. back in August 2022 after their epic performance at Bloodstock. But it wasn’t just the music that caught my attention – it was the connection I made with Quinnhimself. At the album 1 release party at the Underground in Stoke-on-Trent, we hit it off right away, and since then, I’ve been slowly but surely sucked into the whirlwind that is Warlock A.D. From the background, I’ve become more involved in the band’s life and evolution. And I’m here to share the inside scoop with all of you.

Who Are Warlock A.D.?

If you haven’t heard of Warlock A.D. yet, you’re missing out. They’re a high-energy, fun-loving power metal band with a twist. They take you on an epic D&D-style journey, blending fantasy, power metal, and humour into one wild ride. And for those of you who know the band, you already understand they don’t take themselves too seriously – in fact, they have a D20 dice to decide their setlist. No joke. They learn two entire sets and let the dice determine what will be played based on whether the roll is odd or even. The spontaneity and unpredictability make every Warlock show unique, and it’s honestly one of my favourite things about them.

So, if you haven’t checked them out yet, jump onto Spotify or YouTube, and start the journey. Whether you’re a long-time fan or a first-timer, the chaos, energy, and humour will pull you in.

The New Era of Warlock A.D.

Here’s where things get extra exciting for all of us – for the first time in four years, Warlock A.D. finally has a drummer! That’s right, no more ghost drumming. You know, the whole “pretend the smoke machine is a drummer because there’s no actual drummer” phase. But now, drums are real, people. And if that wasn’t enough, they also have a keys player for the very first time! I can’t tell you how excited I am to see these new additions in action – it’s going to elevate Warlock’s live shows to a whole new level.

Our lineup is full of legendary characters:

  • Whiteacre The Hex Blade of Vâgené

  • Quinn Ellianther The Haunted Prince

  • Arihman Cullblade The Assassin King

And, of course, our new drummer and keys player (I won’t reveal their names just yet – stay tuned for updates!)

A Busy Year Ahead

There’s a lot on the horizon for Warlock A.D. We’ve already got a jam-packed schedule lined up with at least one gig a month from February to July. Our big goal? Playing Bloodstock again this August – the same festival where my journey with Warlock A.D. began. We’re hoping to get there through Metal to the Masses, so if you’re in or around Burnley, come and support us – it would make for an unforgettable birthday celebration.

It’s amazing to see how far the band has come, and with all the upcoming gigs and new energy, this year is shaping up to be something special.

How I Became "Nifty"

Now, you might be wondering, “Where did the name ‘Nifty’ come from?” Well, that’s a funny story. It all started when I went away to university in Northumbria. I was walking to another campus with a friend, and they asked me about what I did for Warlock. I explained that I drove band members (at the time, I only had a Peugeot 107) and helped with tour planning – specifically the 2023 Germany tour. My friend laughed, and said, “So you’re Nifty then.” And just like that, the name stuck.

There’s also an old inside joke with the Ye Banished Privateers crew that anything you need, just “see Nifty” – including dance lessons for your first dance (which, let me tell you, is NOT true. I cannot dance to save my life). But over time, my role with the band evolved from logistics to content creation, and I’ve come to absolutely love it. There’s something incredibly rewarding about getting the band to step out of their comfort zones, doing silly dances, lip-syncing to trending sounds, and interacting with fans. It’s a whole new world for them, and watching the fanbase grow while having a blast is the best part of my job.
